Education Visa Reminder Service
Get free email reminders for your Education Visa permission to stay date in Thailand. Missing the date can lead to overstay fines, immigration blacklisting, or rushed extensions. Set the date once and we'll remind you.
What is an Education Visa?
An Education Visa (often called ED Visa) lets you stay in Thailand for full-time study at an approved school, university, or language centre. It is usually issued for 90 days at a time and can be extended at a Thai immigration office.
What this free service does
This is a completely free reminder tool for your Education Visa. Enter your permission to stay date once and we will send you friendly email reminders starting 21 days before it expires. You can also add an optional 90-day reporting date if you need to.
Why the date matters
Missing your permission to stay date can result in daily overstay fines of 500 baht per day (up to a maximum of 20,000 baht), possible immigration blacklisting, or having to leave Thailand in a hurry. Extensions must be done before the current permission ends.
Which date to enter
Enter the "Permission to stay until" date stamped in your passport. This is the admitted until or permitted to stay until date given when you entered Thailand or last extended your visa.
What to take when you go
When you go to immigration to extend your stay, you will generally need the following. Your school should help you prepare the documents.
- Your passport
- Photocopies of your passport's main page, current visa, and latest entry stamp
- A completed TM.7 extension form with a recent passport-sized (4x6 cm) photo
- 1,900 baht extension fee
- A document package from your school (this usually includes a confirmation letter, transcripts, and school registration documents)
- Proof of your address in Thailand (a TM.30 receipt is often required)
Rules change often. Check with your school or immigration before you go.
